Letter with a Rare Blessing for Wealth to a Torah Supporter by Two Me'orei Hadorot - Maran Rabbi Shmuel Salant and the Gaon the Aderet - Jerusalem, 1904 - Official letter of the Etz Chaim Talmud Torah and Yeshiva, scribal script on the elegant stationery of the institution. On the margins of the letter, a rare personal blessing by the two leaders of Jerusalem -  Maran Rabbi Shmuel Salant and the Gaon Rabbi Eliyahu David Rabinovich Te'omim (the Aderet) -  with their personal stamps. Jerusalem, 1904. The letter was sent to an American philanthropist, who donated $12 for the yeshiva. The rabbis of the yeshiva thank him for his generosity and describes the difficult situation in Jerusalem in the early days of winter, not being able to purchase shoes and clothes for the orphans of the Talmud Torah.  On the margins of the letter, the Two Gedolei Hador added a special blessing:   ”גם אנחנו דורשים ומברכים אותו... ישא ברכה עושר והצלחה.” The stamps of the two rabbis of Jerusalem appear at the end of the letter:  ”כעתירת שמואל סלאנט; אליהו דוד רבינוביץ תאומים” . When the letter was written, Rabbi Shmuel Salant and the Aderet served together as Rabbis in Jerusalem. As is well-known, in his final years, Rabbi Shmuel Salant was blind and did not sign letters by him but rather, added his personal stamp to the letter. Out of respect to the eldest rabbi of Jerusalem, the Aderet too added his personal stamp to the letter. This is a rare document bearing the stamps of two foremost rabbis of Jerusalem.  In addition to its historical significance, the letter has a special Segulah value: an explicit blessing for wealth and success by two leading rabbis of Jerusalem with their personal stamps - a rare blessing with a special meaning for the philanthropist who received it.  [1] leaf. 26 cm. Fold lines with small tears along them.  *** Maran the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Salant (1816-1909) the revered Rav of Jerusalem for more than forty years and leader of the Ashkenazi Yishuv of Eretz Yisrael. A contemporary leading Posek. In 1841, he immigrated to Jerusalem, where he established Torah and charity institutions. In his last years, after becomin blind, he invited the Aderet to serve as the Rav of Jerusalem with him.  The Gaon Rabbi Eliyahu David Rabinovich Te'omim  - the Aderet (1845-1905) Av Beit Din of Ponevezh, Mir and Jerusalem. In 1901 was asked by Rabbi Shmuel Salant to serve as Rav of Jerusalem with him and was a partner in the leadership of the town in the last years of the eldest of rabbis. The Aderet was known for his genius, humility and virtues.
