Rare Semichah Document by the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Pabianice - the Son of the Sefas Emes and Brother of the Imrei Emes of Ger - Warsaw, 1935 - Rare and special Semichah document by the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel Alter of Pabianice - the youngest son of the Sefas Emes of Ger and brother of the Imrei Emes of Ger, chairman of Agudat Harabbanim of Poland and a member of Mo'etzet Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisrael. Warsaw, 1935.  The document was given to Rabbi David Stavietzky of Częstochowa, Poland, who wanted to immigrate to Erezt Yisrael. The Rav of Pabianice confirms his Semichah based on a Hora'ah and Semichah document by a familiar Rav, which was presented to him.  When this document was written, Poland was the largest Jewish center in the world - a metropolis of Torah and Chassidut where leading rabbis and Admorim operated. For rabbis who wished to hold rabbinic positions in Eretz Yisrael, a recommendation by Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Pabianice was crucial.  At the time of the letter, no one imagined, even in their darkest nightmares, that within a few short years, the magnificent Jewry of Poland, with its rabbis, leaders, and communities, would be almost entirely destroyed or that the writer of the document himself, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Pabianice, was destined to be murdered in the Holocaust, along with his family members, at the Treblinka extermination camp.  [1] leaf, 27 cm.
