Amsterdam, 1727. Fine impressive volume of Chumash Tikkun Sofrim, one of the most important and impressive editions that were printed for proofreading and writing the version of the Torah. At the beginning of the book, an impressive copper-engraved half-title with miniature illustrations of four biblical stories: David Dancing, David anointement, Elyiyahu on Mount Carmel and Shlomo's Trial. This is one of the most ornate title pages printed in Amsterdam. A thick impressive volume, with fine margis, containing the five Chumashim and the section of the Haftarot with a special title page - which is missing from sone copies [a total of 3 title pages]. It also contai8ns at its end, a 100 year calendar [1730-1830] and the last leaf with the Sephardic and Italian Ta'amei Mikra, which is also missing from some copies. The work was printed by Rabbi Moshe Frankfurt, the famed dayan of Amsterdam and author of the Ba'er Heitev commentary on Shulchan Aruch Choshen Mishpat. The Chida wrote of him in Shem Hagedolim: ”מהר”ר משה פרנקפורט דיין בק”ק אמשטרדם... הוא הדפיס המקרא גדולה בדפוסו באמשטרדם עם כמה פירושים נוספים...”. [1], 367, [1]; [1], 118, [3] leaves. 17 cm.
