From the Library of Rabbi Mordechai David Teitelbaum with Glosses: The Kabbalistic Sefer Yesod Sha'ar Hagilgulim Published by the Admorim of Shinova and Radomsk - First Edition Premishla, 1875 - Volume with the two sections of the book Sha'ar Hagilgulim of the eight famed She'arim of the mekubal Rabbeinu Chaim Vital ffrom the Torah of his Rav, the Ari. Section I and two varied editions of Section II, both published for the first time in this edition. The Kabbalistic Sefer Yesod was published by the Admorim of Shinova and Radomsk from manuscripts they owned. The Press of Chaim Aharon Zupnik and Rabbi Chaim Knoller, Premishla [Pshemishel], 1875. Stefansky Yesod #349.  Section I published by the Rav of Shinova - some of it published for the first time Sefer Hagilgulim of the Ari, ”Drush Haneshamot Vehagilgul VehaIbur Vehayibum...” by Rabbi Chaim Vital who heard it from the Ari. Published by the Admor Rabbi Yechezkel Sheraga Halberstam of Shinova, the eldest son of the Admor the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, from the time he was Av Beit Di of Stropkov. First ediiton of Section II (chapters 36-73). [2], 99, [1] leaves.  Section II published by the Rav of Radomsk - first edition Sefer Sha'ar hagilgulim, Section II ”copied from a manuscript by the Mekubak Rabbi Chaim Vital...” with glosses by the Mekubal Rabbi Yaakov Tzemach. Published by the Admor of Radomsk II, Rabbi Zvi Meir Hacohen Rabinovich, the son and successor of the Admor Rabbi Shlomo Hacohen of Radomsk author of the Tiferet Shlomo. According to the title page, this is the first edition of this section, which had been a manuscript owned by Rabbi Shlomo Hacohen of Radomsk: ”וזה החלק לא בא עד הנה בדפוס והיה כתיבת יד גנוז וטמיר בבית הרב הגאון הקדוש המפורסים צי”ע כקש”ת מוה' שלמה הכהן זלה”ה אב”ד דק”ק רדאמסק”.   Forword by the publisher, the Admor of Radomsk. First ediiton (the content of the book differs from Section I published by the Rav of Shinova and from the Jerusalem 1863 edition). 1875. [4], 48, 38 leaves.  This section was approbated by the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, who writes that these works were favored by Rabbi Shlomo of Radomsk: ”ובאמת מעולם מנעתי לתת ידי על כתבים כאלו... כי בעו”ה בזמן הזה רבו המזייפים. אולם יען שהרב המאוה”ג הנ”ל [האדמו”ר רבי צבי מאיר מראדומסק] הגיד לי שהחיבורים הנ”ל הי' חביבים ונחמדים בעיני מר אביו הרב הגאון הקדוש זלה”ה [הרה”ק התפארת שלמה] ו הי' למראה עיניו תמיד וראה והביט בהם הרבה, הנני סומך על צדקתו.. .”. Pedigreed copy Copy of the Admor Rabbi Mordechai David Teitelbaum Av Beit Din of Stitshin and Drohobych , the nephew of the Yitav Lev and great-grandson of the Yismach Moshe.  Many stamps. Throughout both sections of the book, 10 short corrections apparently handwritten by Rabbi Mordechai David.  Interesting! On the page with the foreword by the Rav of Shinova there is a leaf handwritten by the Admor Rabbi Alter Eliezer Kahana of Spinka-Ziditchov - who was also an owner of the book. On the leaf, the Admor comments on the words of the Rav of Shinova, stating that his words are not possible - fascinating content indicating the vast knowledge of the Rebbe, who ends his words modestly with  ”ושגיאות מי יבין”. Additional notations on the front flyleaf, not studied.  23.5 cm. An open tear to the title page of Section II, professionally restored. Stains and minor blemishes. Fine new binding. Good-very good condition. Signatures, stamps, notations and a gloss.  *** The Admor Rabbi Mordechai David Teitelbaum (d. 1920) Av Beit Din of Stitshin and later, Drohobych. Was the son of Rabbi nachum Zvi Teitelbaum of Drohobych, the son of Rabbi Elazar Nissan Teitelbaum of Drohobych - the father of the Sighet Chassidut, the son of Rabbi Moshe Teitelbaum, the author of the Yismach Moshe.  He immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1902, settling at first in Meiron and later in Safed, where he became famed as a leading Admor and Mekubal. His name appears on public broadsides published by the rabbis of Safed. His grave in Safed was discovered in recent years and has become a place of prayer.
