A Segulah Book! Fine Copy: Magen David by the Rav of Tolna Published in the Author’s Lifetime - Lviv, 1880 - Sefer Magen David, on the Torah, by the Admor Rabbi David Twersky, the first Admor of Tolna, son of Rabbi Mordechai of Chernobyl. Lviv, 1880. A rare edition which does not in Stefansky Chassidut, printed like the two earlier editions which were also published during the author’s lifetime -unlike most Chassidic works that were published only after their authors' passing.  This edition contains for the first time a special letter of blessing by the author, Rabbi David of Tolna, to the publisher. In it, he writes that anyone who purchases and studies the book, will hopefully be protected spiritually and materially and will be temporarily and eternally successful: ”והנני לאמר אשר כל איש חכם לב אשר יקנה את הספר הזה ויהגה בו, אקוה שיהיה עליו לתרופה לגופו ונפשו ברוחניות וגשמיות בזה ובבא, יצליח בהצלחות זמניות ונצחיות”! Fine copy! Two title pages. [1], 104, , [1] leaves. Stains. Small tears to the corners of some leaves. New binding. Very good overall condition.
