Touching Letter for the New Year - Handwritten and Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Trushkin Av Beit Din of Skuodas - ד' יזמין לכלנו בקרב כל ישראל לכאו”א די מחסורו - fine letter for the New Year - by the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Trushkin Av Beit Din of Skuodas - addressed to the Gaon Rabbi Eliyahu Botchko the Rosh Yeshiva of Etz Chaim of Montreux, Switzerland - Skuodas, 1931.  At the beginning of the letter, the Rav writes a blessing for the New Year: ”כתיבה וחתימה טובה ושנה טובה ומאושרה מלאה ברכת ה'”. Later, Rabbi Trushkin apologizes for not writing for a year due to his wife's health: ”כי שנה זו היו לי טרדות ואי מנוחה מפני מצב בריאות רעיתי ת', ד' יזמין לכלנו בקרב כל ישראל לכאו”א די מחסורו... ד' יעזור לי להבא שאוכל למלאות חובותי לד' ואנשים...”. Rabbi Trushkin asks about Rabbi Botchko's health and the state of his yeshiva in Montreux: ”איך המצב אצלו בפרט עם ב”ב יחיו, כן המצב בהישיבה...”. *** The Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Trushkin (1883-1941) a disciple of the Saba of Slabodka and was sent by him to establish brnaches of the yeshiva in Lithuanian cities. In 1917, succeeded his in-law as Av Beit Din of Skuodas and was the last Rav of the town.
