Megillat Esther for a Chazan, written by hand on gvil parchment—Italy, beginning of 19th century (approx) - Written in sofer script, ink on parchment, especially large, perhaps used in a synagogue for a Chazan. Uniform handwriting, pretty throughout. Sewn to a wooden etz hayim, carved by hand. With a string made of gvil for closing it. Not sold as kosher. Stains and light wear. Generally good condition. Height of the parchment: 49cm. Height of writing: 39cm. Height including wood: 74cm.
