“Questions and Answers of the Radbaz”, Venice 1749—first edition. Special copy.
Book of questions and answers of the Nesher HaGadol the head of Golat Ariel, HaRav David ben Zamra (Radbaz), 1828 questions and answers, 75 on the language of the Rambam, indices according to subjects. Venice 1759, first edition (2) 129 pages (Winograd 1860).This book was published by HaRav David Ashkenazi, the rabbinical representative of Jerusalem in Italy, son of the Gaon Ba’al Eshel Avraham, compiler of commentary on the Zohar, from stacks of handwritten letters of the Radbaz. HaRav MaMool received certificates from the leaders of Jerusalem, Venice, and Livorno, with permission from the rabbis of Venice. Handsome copy in excellent condition—like new—with gilted page cuttings with flowery and geometric etchings on its spine. This special copy was seemingly designed for one of the big donors for the book’s publication. New binding.
