Kachō-e (Japanese 花鳥絵 Kachō-e, or kachō-ga 花鳥画 kachō-ga is "pictures of flowers and birds") — subgenre of Japanese engraving ukiyo-e, originating from the traditional genre of Chinese painting, dedicated to the same subject. There were masters who specialized exclusively in this genre, although the great masters of ukiyo-e, for example, Hiroshige, also sometimes used it.
