Signed “Dimitris Tinakos” (1909–1997), “Landscape with Houses.” Oil on canvas, 1968. An exceptional landscape composition by Dimitris Tinakos, depicting a rural landscape and traditional dwellings set within a serene, natural environment. At the center of the composition, the old houses with their tiled roofs dominate, surrounded by large trees and bare tree trunks, while the characteristic Greek countryside can be seen in the background. The artist renders the scene with a free, expressive brushstroke and a rich color palette, combining earthy tones, greens, and warm hues. The painted surface clearly retains the traces of the painter’s brushwork, lending the composition immediacy and vitality. The work is characterized by a deep sense of atmosphere and the particular sensitivity with which Tinianos approaches the Greek landscape. The date 1968 places the work in a mature period of his artistic career. Signed “Tiniakos” lower left. Date: 1968. Medium: Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 75 x 135 cm.
