Table Clock ”Galant Scene” in Gilded Bronze – Rococo Taste – 19th Century cm - Elegant mantel clock in gilded bronze, a fine example of 19th-century French artistic production that revives the decorative splendor of the Louis XV style. The work stands out for the richness of its chasing and the quality of its casting, elements that make it an object of great decorative impact. The Sculpture: The top is adorned with a full-round sculptural group depicting a ”galant scene” in a garden. A young noble couple, dressed in finely detailed 18th-century costumes, are seated on the clock case in an attitude of tender conversation. The Base: The central body of the clock is supported by a large rocaille base, richly decorated with volutes, acanthus leaves, and shell motifs. In the center of the base, a cartouche with a pastoral scene in relief stands out, framed by scroll feet that elevate its structure. The Dial: In white enamel with Roman numerals for the hours and an outer minute track. It features winding holes at 4 and 8 o'clock, indicating a movement with chimes.
