The work was created by Jean Blaeu, one of the most famous cartographers of the 17th century, and published in Amsterdam by Officina Bleau. The map stands out for its decorative elegance, typical of the golden age of Dutch cartography, highlighted by the large heraldic cartouche in the upper right supported by allegorical figures and surmounted by noble coats of arms.
