No Reserve - Antique Oushak Lotto Inspired Design Rug 11 ft 8 in x 9 ft (3.56 m x 2.74 m) - Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugs No Reserve - Antique Oushak Lotto Inspired Design Rug Size: 11 ft 8 in x 9 ft (3.56 m x 2.74 m) Provenance: From the Los Angeles residence of a collector A rare antique Deco collectible rug from China, circa 1920, whose design draws direct inspiration from the celebrated 16th-century Oushak Lotto carpets of Anatolia ? patterns immortalized in the paintings of Renaissance artist Lorenzo Lotto. This extraordinary piece beautifully merges Eastern craftsmanship with Western design influence: the flowing arabesques and stylized lattice motifs of the Oushak-inspired field are reimagined through an Art Deco lens of geometric structure, symmetry, and restrained palette, while the high-quality wool pile offers a smooth texture and gentle sheen. Handwoven in the early 20th century, when Chinese weaving centers were uniquely embracing global artistic movements, this rug stands as a rare artistic bridge between Anatolia's Renaissance-era patterns and China's early modern innovation. Condition: Lot #259 is in good condition. The pile is mostly full and even, with minor wear scattered throughout the field. Both ends are original and hand-secured. The sides are secured. There is a very well-done, small repair (1” x 1”) at one end. There is no dryness in the foundation. This rug is clean and floor ready.
