Five round medallions, each containing a powerful imperial dragon in motion, preside over the golden field ? designs historically reserved for only the highest ranks of Chinese society. Symbolic cloud scrollwork and auspicious emblems frame the composition, while the refined palette of gold, deep blue, and muted coral allows this historically significant and visually striking piece to speak to both traditional and contemporary interiors. Condition: Lot #260 is in fair to good condition. The pile is full and even, with a few minor scattered tears that can be easily repaired. There is also an approximately 11” tear that has been sewn but could be improved. Both ends are complete and secured. The sides are secured.The foundation shows no signs of dryness, and the rug is clean.
