Letter from Rabbi Yaakov Waldler, Talmid of Chassam Sofer, to the Maharam Schick, with handwritten response. Pressburg, 1839 - The Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Waldler was a student of the the Chassam Sofer. Nothing is known of his life and his writings, except that his father’s name was Rabbi Zvi Hirsch. This letter is apparently the first extant letter from Rabbi Waldler! Pressburg, 1839. This signed letter is completely in his handwriting. 22x17 cm. slight damage to margins, effecting minor text. Folds, with adhesive tape.
