Description Carcharhys average 2.5 metres (8 ft 2 in) in length. The maximum weight of the shark is 158.8 kg (350 lb). Shark species are usually distinguished by locating and measuring their fins. The tail is one-third of the total body length. The second dorsal fin and anal fin of Carcharhys are very large and approximately equal in size. The pectoral fins are triangular and only slightly larger than the dorsal fins. The teeth are long and very narrow with sharp points, and smooth without ridges.
