Bidspirit auction | Collection of 10 original amber
Collection of 10 original amber fossils with insects/mosquitoes/crustaceans inside them - an item millions of years old - Average size 12 to 38 mm. Includes display stand + 7 capsules for storage. ”Amber is a fossilized tree resin that dripped from tree trunks millions of years ago before rolling to the seabed or swamp and being buried in mud. Sometimes, when the resin was still fresh and relatively liquid, it trapped parts of plants, insects and other creatures that were walking on the trunk at the time. Although it is considered a fossil, amber does not undergo mineral changes like regular fossils, thanks to the strong chemical bonds between the organic molecules that make it up. Thus, it remains similar in appearance to the fresh resin from which it was formed.”
