William and Mary Maple Daybed - William and Mary Maple Daybed Rhode Island, c. 1720, with green wool fabric cushion and gold piping. Provenance: Wunsch Americana Foundation and previously on loan at Brooklyn Museum of Art. 41 x 22 x 69 1/4 in. (104.1 x 55.9 x 175.9 cm.) Condition: Refinished. Formerly fitted with a rope, not fitted with an upholstered deck and a cushion on top. Reclining back formerly screwed closed. Patch and repair to one stile at crest. Probably broke when screwed shut. Other stile cracked and repaired. Wear to cushion with some tearing. Wear to stretchers and legs consistent with age and use. Otherwise, good condition.
