Inscribed in pencil on backboard, ”Point Pleasant SBH Saved from fire, old house Jan 10, 1925.” Minor losses. Appears to retain an old and possibly original mirror plate. Provenance: John Brown (1736-1803), Providence, Rhode Island; To his daughter, Sarah Brown Herreshoff (1773-1846); To her son Charles Frederick Herreshoff (1809-1888); Thus by descent in the Herreshoff Family line.
