Two Horses in a Field, Oil on Canvas - Two Horses in a Field Oil on Canvas Signed illegibly l.r. Together with an oil on canvas or horses, goat, and chickens in a barn, appears to be unsigned. Largest Sight: 19 1/4 x 27 1/2 in. (48.9 x 69.9 cm.), Frame: 23 1/2 x 32 in. (59.7 x 81.3 cm.) Condition: Horses in the Barn: Relined. Some crazing and craquelure throughout. Frame rub heaviest along right edge. Some light surface scratches and scattered paint loss. U.V. inspection revealed two repaired tears on right side just beyond bay horses’ tail and directly above. There is also scattered retouch and a heavy coat of varnish. Small area of abrasion on goat’s tail. Otherwise, good condition. The next: Unlined. Light surface wear. Very light yellowing of varnish. U.V. inspection revealed little to no areas of re-touch. Overall, the painting is in very good condition. Small dimple in canvas near right horse’s head.
