Chippendale Mahogany Blockfront Chest of Drawers - Chippendale Mahogany Blockfront Chest of Drawers Massachusetts, 1770-1790. Provenance: Wayne Pratt Inc., Woodbury, CT. Property from a Private Southwestern collection. 32 3/4 x 37 1/4 x 20 1/4 in. (83.2 x 94.6 x 51.4 cm.) Condition: Top lightly sun struck. Typical scratches, bruising, wear and abrasions consistent with age and use. Brasses replaced and drawers scarred accordingly. Minor shrinkage cracks to case sides. Some liquid like splatter marks on one case side leaving slightly lighter marks. Scattered bruising and old losses to small areas of cockbeading. Very base of feet lighter in color as if it sat in water or a damp hoor. Cracks, repairs and bruising to feet/facings. Middle two drawers lacking locks. Otherwise, good condition.
