English Silver Double Handled Oval Tray - English Silver Double Handled Oval Tray London, MD and Sons, 22 7/8”l. Together with an English Silver reticulated liner, English, London, possibly Andrew Fogelberg, 18th C. 17.5” Approx. 115 t.o. Together with a Paul Storr and Edward Farrell sterling-mounted Old Sheffield Silver Plated Meat Dome. Oval dome with sterling acanthus overlaid handle having figural lion masks and large flower at terminus, hallmarked for Paul Storr, London (no date letter), and applied sterling silver relief crests at the center of each side with hallmarks for Edward Farrell, London, 1820-21. The arms are believed to be those of Sir Jacob Astley 6th Baronet (b 1797 - d 1859) of Melton Constable Norfolk and Seaton Delavel, Northumberland. Plated meat dome stamped R. & S. Garrard, Panton, London. The meat dome has not been weighed. Provenance: Meat Dome: Case Antiques, Inc. Auctions and Appraisals, Knoxville, Tennessee, July 24, 2021, lot 104 17 1/2 in. (44.5 cm.) Condition: This lot has three pieces. The tray is English silver (sterling) as is the under tray (liner). Together they weigh 115 t.o. The dome itself is silver plated and was not weighed. However, the dome is adorned with sterling top handle and two sterling applied crests. The added pieces are not weighed. The plating on the dome is in good condition. The handle and other added pieces on the dome are English silver not plate. General scratching.  Thank you for your interest in our upcoming sale.
