[Features] quotations from a variety of sources - eyewitnesses, archives and [interviews].” - Alexander Zvielli, The Jerusalem Post ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Journalist and writer Joseph Evron is a fifth-generation Israeli; he began his career as a newspaper man as early as the days of the underground resistance movement the Irgun Zvai Leumi (IZL), which, with Menachem Begin as its commander, fought to chase the British out of pre-state Israel, leading the way to the formation of the Jewish state; Evron joined the IZL in 1946. He has served as a senior correspondent of the daily Haboker and political editor of David Ben-Gurion's RAFI party weekly journal Mabat Hadash and was the spokesman for Israel Military Industries; among other publications, he founded and edited its organ Bataas. He has written six books and contributed entries on Israel's defense industries to various encyclopedias. His books On a Rainy Day and A New Look at Suez, both in Hebrew, revealed the secret Protocol of Sèvres concluded among France, Britain, and İsrael prior to the 1956 Suez Campaign. Currently, Evron is the editor of the online political magazine Mizkar.
