A SMALL JAPANESE SUZURIBAKO WRITING BOX, MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912) - An oblong suzuribako writing box, decorated at the outside with a landscape with pine-trees and a waterfall in raised gold takamakie-lacquer with scattered gold flakes (hirame). The inside of the box with sprinkled gold makie-lacquer. The frame that keeps the oblong ink stone and water dropper at its place is decorated with autumn flowers. In original tomobako-store box.
