A LARGE CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE VASE, 19TH/20TH CENTURY - A Chinese porcelain baluster-shaped vase with an elegantly tapering neck. The ruby-red ground of the neck is decorated with flowering lotus amidst stylized chrysanthemums in light-colored glazes. Two bands encircle the shoulder: the first, composed of tiny flowers and branches in a rose hue, and the second, positioned above, featuring stylized petals and flowers. The ovoid body showcases a vibrant, continuous landscape of Chinese and European figures, mythical beasts, rivers, and mountains, painted in vivid famille rose enamels. These details are framed by ruyi head bands at the shoulder and base. Height: 56 cm. Note: The neck has been cut off
