A ROMAN INTAGLIO WITH A YOUNG SHEPHERD, 1ST-2ND CENTURY AD - A Roman carnelian intaglio showing a young shepherd (dancing?) holding a bunch of grapes and balancing on one foot. He holds a crook over his shoulder and is accompanied by his dog, prancing in front of him. Deep orange carnelian, bi-lentoid 1/2nd c.AD. A charming bucolic pastoral scene much favoured in Antiquity. 12 by 10 mm.
