A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE 'DEER' 'KRAAK PORCELAIN' DISH, WANLI PERIOD (1572-1620) - The dish is finely decorated to the centre with a star-shaped panel enclosing two birds in flight above a deer in a lake scene, all surrounded by further lappet-shaped panels enclosing alternating precious objects and peach blossoming branches separated by brocade designs. The reverse is decorated with roundels enclosing lingzhi fungus. Diameter 21 cm. PROVENANCE Private collection, the Netherlands
