His face, with a few days' growth of beard, displays a serious expression and a fixed gaze towards the camera, partially obscured by his right hand. This hand is positioned in the foreground with the palm extended forward in a gesture of stopping or protection, revealing a compass rose tattoo in the center of the palm. On the left side, superimposed directly over his hand and part of his clothing, is a decorative handwritten signature in thick black lines, the artist's characteristic flourish.
