19th / Early 20th Century - Antique French-Style Jacquard Tapestry - ”The Music Room” Salon Scene.  All these items must be collected from the house in person; we do not offer a delivery service. If anyone wishes to arrange for an item to be collected, they may do so via a transport company. Large antique European tapestry woven on a mechanical loom (Gobelin or Jacquard style). The piece features a refined 18th-century courtly scene set in a palatial parlor, depicting two elegantly dressed period ladies next to musical instruments (a baroque guitar rests on the left chair). It displays a distinctive monochromatic palette of sepia, ocher, and beige tones. The tapestry is mounted on a rigid backing or stretcher frame. It shows an authentic antique patina with a smooth, even aging that enhances its classical decorative value.
