Large antique travel chest crafted from solid wood with a distressed black painted exterior finish. The structure is heavily reinforced with wooden slats and riveted iron bands. This piece is particularly remarkable for preserving its original interior lining of lithographed paper, featuring elegant period ornamental motifs in ocher and brown tones. It features heavy-duty cast iron side handles and front metal hardware. It displays natural wear and battle scars from historical travel, adding a fantastic rustic charm.
