Late 19th C. - Antique Solid Pine Dome-Top Travel Trunk with Clean Wood Interior. All these items must be collected from the house in person; we do not offer a delivery service. If anyone wishes to arrange for an item to be collected, they may do so via a transport company. An imposing and sturdy antique large-format travel chest featuring a distinctive vaulted or dome-top upper lid design. Crafted entirely from solid pine wood displaying rich reddish and warm honey undertones, heavily armored with protective longitudinal wooden slats and riveted wrought-iron corner bands. It retains its authentic period hardware setup, including a central front latch and heavy-duty iron side carrying handles. The interior is particularly remarkable for being completely bare, showing beautifully clean, well-brushed natural wood surfaces free of any degraded lining or fabric backing. Showcases an outstanding authentic rustic patina with normal historical battle scars and honest aging, making it an excellent statement coffee table, end-of-bed storage unit, or interior design accent.
