Mid-Century - Antique Spanish Olot School ”Saint Joseph with the Christ Child” Wodpulp Statue. All these items must be collected from the house in person; we do not offer a delivery service. If anyone wishes to arrange for an item to be collected, they may do so via a transport company. A beautiful antique religious devotional statue depicting Saint Joseph cradling the infant Jesus. Masterfully handcrafted by the renowned imagery workshops of Olot (Catalonia, Spain) utilizing traditional wood-paste (pasta de madera) and finished in fine, hand-painted oil polychrome. The composition stands out due to the serene facial expressions and the fluid, heavy drapery of the brown and deep-red robes. Saint Joseph holds his traditional blossoming staff while the Christ Child holds the global orb. The lot includes its original molded circular plinth and comes displayed upon a period wooden wall bracket/shelf decorated with an antique lace trim. Outstanding overall condition with a beautiful genuine aged patina.
