Victor Talking Machine Co. Type Vic V External Horn Phonograph Serial No. 16280 and records - This Victor Talking Machine Co. Type Vic V external horn gramophone was manufactured in Camden, New Jersey, in the early 20th century. The unit is housed in a triple-tiered quarter-sawn oak cabinet featuring decorative base and top moldings. It is equipped with a large red-painted fluted metal morning glory horn attached via a metal support bracket and connected to a tapered metal tone arm. The phonograph includes a side-mounted metal winding crank with a wooden handle for the internal spring-driven motor. The 12-inch turntable currently holds a Masterseal 78rpm record. An original brass identification plate is fastened to the front of the cabinet and is marked with the Victor logo in script, an image of Nipper the dog with the text His Masters Voice, Made by Victor Talking Mch. Co., Type Vic V, Serial No. 16280, and Camden, New Jersey, U.S.A.
