The case is decorated with hand-painted floral motifs including edelweiss and gentian. The front platform includes an articulated woodchopper figure and a stationary deer. The circular wooden dial is set with applied white Roman numerals and ornate white hands. A cuckoo bird is positioned behind the upper door. The clock is powered by a mechanical weight-driven movement supported by three cast-metal pinecone-shaped weights, indicating timekeeping, cuckoo strike, and musical functions.
