A Group of Hand-Carved and Painted Wooden Bird Decoys Including Signed Examples by Bill Stultz and T Clark - A group of hand-carved wooden bird decoys featuring varied styles and finishes. The collection includes a Canada goose decoy with a black and cream painted head and a brown-toned body with incised feather detailing on its back. The underside of this piece is signed in ink Bill Stultz 1987. Also present is a large black-painted decoy with an elongated bill and a wooden keel attached to the underside, which is incised with the name T CLARK. The group further contains a natural-finish wood decoy in a sleeping position with its head tucked back, displaying prominent wood grain and knots, and a smaller duck decoy with a dark mahogany-colored finish and carved wing lines. These pieces represent North American folk art traditions.
