A Collection of Ten Vintage Hoosier Style Glass Kitchen Canisters and Jars - This collection includes ten pieces of vintage American utility glassware designed for kitchen use, primarily in the Hoosier cabinet style. The assortment dates from the early-to-mid 20th century and features several types of storage canisters and jars. Included is a large clear pressed glass coffee canister with vertical ribbing and an embossed shield-shaped cartouche reading COFFEE. There are two tea canisters: one clear glass jar with vertical facets and a horizontal embossed TEA band, and another clear glass jar with vertical ribbing and an embossed shield cartouche reading TEA. One square-bodied jar is composed of opaque black glass, often referred to as black amethyst glass. One clear round jar features horizontal ribbing and a partial yellow and orange decal containing the letter A. The collection also comprises two light aqua-tinted cylindrical jars and three small clear glass utility or spice jars. Most jars retain metal screw-top lids, typically made of zinc or aluminum. One detached, perforated metal shaker lid is also included.
