A Collection of A.H. Heisey and Company Clear Pressed Glass Tableware - LID TO ICE VESSEL IS CHIPPED. This collection consists of several pieces of clear pressed glass produced by A.H. Heisey and Company in Newark, Ohio. The group includes a large lidded jar with faceted octagonal panels and a matching octagonal finial, a small pitcher or creamer with colonial-style thumbprint faceting on the lower body, a long oval relish dish with radial ribbing and a starburst base, and an oval scalloped dish with deep radial fluting. Several pieces prominently display the molded Diamond H maker mark. The relish dish base contains the Diamond H surrounded by molded text reading PAT. JAN. 30, 1923 and DES. NO. 61264. These markings identify the items as part of Heisey's Octagon and related colonial-style patterns from the early 20th century. The glass exhibits high clarity and well-defined molded details characteristic of this manufacturer.
