WEST OF MEEKER PICKUP- Antique Industrial Power-Driven Wood and Cast-Iron Corn Sheller - This late 19th to early 20th-century agricultural machine is a power-driven corn sheller. The unit is built with a heavy timber frame and features significant traces of original red paint. The mechanical components are made of cast-iron, including a large external drive pulley intended for use with a belt from a stationary engine. The machine utilizes a series of gears, sprockets, and a heavy iron chain to drive the internal mechanism. Inside the wooden housing, there is a spiked processing cylinder and rollers designed for removing kernels from corn cobs. A large external gear is marked with the cast characters S 3 3 8. A cast-iron bracket located near the base of the frame is marked D 1 1 8. No manufacturer name or brand mark is visible on the exterior or interior components.
