Texaco Fire-Chief Gasoline Gas Pump Manufactured by S. F. Bowser and Co. Inc. - A vintage electric gas pump manufactured by S. F. Bowser and Co. Inc. of Fort Wayne, Indiana. This unit has been restored in a Texaco Fire-Chief Gasoline color scheme, featuring a red and white finish with corresponding decals and signage. The pump is surmounted by a Texaco star globe with a white plastic body, marked September 1982 at the base. The main display face features a Bowser mechanical computer with rolling counters for sale price and gallon count, embellished with Art Deco-style radiating line graphics. The price per gallon is manually set at 37 9/10 cents. Attached to the side is a black rubber fuel hose terminating in a metallic nozzle. The lower front section includes a sign depicting the Texaco Fire-Chief branding with a red fire helmet graphic. A secondary warning sign on the side panel specifies the content of tetraethyl lead. The manufacturer identification plate on the side lists numerous U.S. patents and identifies the maker as S. F. Bowser and Co. Inc., alongside an Underwriters Laboratories inspection seal. The internal mechanical pump and motor have been removed, leaving the lower cavity open, though original structural framing and some internal piping remain. Approx 74 inches tall
