1942 Curtiss-Wright Corporation Airplane Division WWII Production Award Medallion and Four Pins - A collection comprising a 1942 Curtiss-Wright Corporation Airplane Division Production Award Medallion and four associated enameled metal pins. The large circular bronze-toned medallion's obverse features ”ARMY” and ”NAVY” banners flanking an ”E” award within a wreath, positioned above two aircraft and a propeller. The rim text reads ”CURTISS-WRIGHT CORPORATION AIRPLANE DIVISION BUFFALO, N.Y. PLANTS ONE AND TWO” and is dated ”AUGUST 20, 1942.” Its reverse is inscribed, ”PRESENTED IN APPRECIATION OF YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE EARNING OF THIS PRODUCTION AWARD CURTISS-WRIGHT CORP. AIRPLANE DIVISION BUFFALO, N.Y.,” along with a winged Curtiss-Wright logo. The four smaller enameled metal pins are of varying winged designs, centrally featuring the ”Curtiss Wright” logo, and bear text such as ”PRODUCTION Soldier,” ”PRODUCTION Soldier 100%,” and ”PRODUCTION AWARD.” One pin's reverse is marked ”STERLING B.B. CO. ROCH, N.Y.”
