The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night and Supplemental Nights, translated and annotated by Richard F. Burton, The Burton Club Edition, 16 Volumes - A uniform set of 16 hardcover books, comprising ten primary volumes of ”The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night” and seven supplemental volumes, all translated and annotated by Richard F. Burton. The main volumes feature gold gilt lettering on their dark gray/black cloth spines, including the title ”Arabian Nights” and the Arabic script ”ألف ليلة وليلة” (Alf Laylah wa Laylah). The supplemental volumes bear similar silver-gilt lettering for ”Supplemental Nights.” Both sets display ornate scrollwork. Each volume is stated as ”Privately Printed by The Burton Club” and ”Printed in the United States of America.” A dedication within a supplemental volume is dated July 15, 1886, indicating a late 19th-century publication period. The set includes period-specific sepia and green-toned illustrations throughout.
