The Holy Bible, 1844, Published for the Methodist Episcopal Church, Leather-Bound - A large, leather-bound volume titled ”THE HOLY BIBLE,” containing the Old and New Testaments. The title page states it was ”PUBLISHED BY G. LANE & P. P. SANDFORD, FOR THE METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH, AT THE CONFERENCE OFFICE, 200 MULBERRY-STREET, NEW-YORK” in ”1844.” The interior features printed text, including an illustration titled ”THE BRAZEN SERPENT.” Handwritten inscriptions are present, notably a signature ”Leroy G Honey” on the title page and other cursive notes throughout. An inserted postcard, dated December 16, 1941, from Beaver Dam, N.Y., is addressed to ”Clarence Smith” and contains biblical references and other notes, including ”Dec 18th 1930 Oyster.”
