Art Nouveau Carved Oak Wall Barometer and Thermometer - An antique wall-mounted weather station, crafted from dark-stained, carved oak, displaying an aesthetic suggestive of the Art Nouveau or Arts and Crafts period. It features a central glass-encased thermometer marked ”R C” with a scale from -10 to 50. Below, an aneroid barometer with a visible internal mechanism and brass bezel displays a circular dial inscribed in German with ”VERÄNDERLICH” (Changeable), ”SCHÖN WETTER BESTÄNDIG” (Fair Weather, Steady/Constant), and ”STURM REGEN ODER WIND” (Storm, Rain or Wind), indicating pressure ranges from approximately 69 to 78. Decorative elements include three carved floral motifs at the top and two at the bottom, along with carved vertical slots on either side of the thermometer. The reverse side reveals a metal plate behind the thermometer and a circular metal cover for the barometer, complete with a brass hanging loop at the top. Height: 18.5 inches (47 cm)
