Pitz and Frank Pape - A collection of four vintage hardcover books, primarily children's and young adult literature, published between 1929 and 1942. The lot includes ”Jungle Haven” (1942) by Albert Leeds Stillman, illustrated by Henry C. Pitz, published by The John C. Winston Company, which retains its dust jacket and contains a handwritten German inscription dated ”Albany 4.20.47.” Also present is ”Olaf The Glorious” (1929) by Robert Leighton, with pictures by Henry Pitz, published by The Macmillan Co., bound in green cloth. The collection further comprises ”King Arthur and His Round Table” by Beatrice Clay, published by E.P. Dutton & Co. New York, featuring an elaborately gold-embossed red cloth binding. The fourth volume is ”The Arabian Nights, ” with an Art Deco/Art Nouveau style illustrated paper-covered board signed ”Frank Pape 1925.” All volumes feature internal illustrations.
