Likely from the mid-20th century, manufactured by The Gamewell Co. of Newton, Massachusetts. The main housing, appearing to be painted composite or metal, is a faded cream/pale yellow. It features a prominent red hinged cover for the internal pull handle. ”GAMEWELL” with an emblem is embossed at the top, and ”FOR FIRE” is present in red lettering below. The red cover displays the instructions ”OPEN THEN PULL DOWN HOOK,” while the interior mechanism shows ”PULL DOWN” and ”HOOK” with directional arrows. The bottom front is marked ”THE GAMEWELL CO.
