Vintage 1950s L.A. Goodman Fire Fighters Motion Lamp - A Vintage 1950s L.A. Goodman Fire Fighters Motion Lamp. This cylindrical illuminated display features a translucent outer shade graphically depicting a dramatic fire scene from the mid-20th century, characterized by a horse-drawn steam pumper, firefighters, and a blazing building with billowing smoke, which glows warmly when illuminated. The cylindrical element is supported by a brass-toned metal base with a geometric fretwork design and small feet, housing a rotary switch and a light socket. An internal, clear or lightly tinted cylinder with blue abstract patterns is visible below the outer illustrated layer, designed to rotate and create the illusion of motion. Markings on the bottom rim of this inner cylinder include ”THE GOODMAN MFG. CO.”. The top of the lamp is a dark, textured surface with a central opening revealing a fan-like internal diffuser. The lamp is equipped with an older, fabric-covered electrical cord and a two-prong plug.
