The American-style firefighter's helmet is constructed from molded leather, finished in an off-white or cream color. It features a wide brim, a ribbed dome, and a prominent shield on the front bearing the words ”FIRE CHIEF” in applied red block letters. A patinated brass or bronze eagle finial adorns the top of the helmet, secured by metal fastenings. The interior is lined with a dark, worn fabric. Length: 14.5 inches (36.8 cm)
