Vintage Cast Iron Fire Alarm Telegraph Box, Utica, New York - A vintage cast iron fire alarm telegraph box, featuring an arched top and a decorative front panel with an embossed bell motif flanked by stylized lightning bolts, and column-like elements. The front is clearly marked with ”FIRE ALARM TELEGRAPH,” the number ”62,” and partially obscured text that reads ”THE [partially obscured] TEL. CO. UTICA, N. Y.” A small, projecting, hinged door on the lower left of the front provides access to a keyhole. When opened, an internal metal plate reveals instructions in red capital letters: ”PULL HOOK DOWN ONCE AND LET GO.”
