Cairns & Brother Senator Fire Chief Helmet with Leather Front Shield - Produced 1947-66, A vintage American-style firefighter's helmet by Cairns & Brother. Constructed with an off-white painted Tin shell and a prominent, worn leather front shield. The shield features ”CHIEF” at its top, a central faded emblem with green and red details, and the initials ”L M B” at the bottom. Small metal hardware on the side shows a relief ”FD” emblem. The interior is fitted with a brown fabric lining and a leather sweatband, containing a circular manufacturer's label that reads ”CAIRNS & BROTHER, MFRS OF FIRE HELMETS & EQUIPMENT, CLIFTON NEW JERSEY INC.”
