Ballot Box V.F. AS'SN. Stenciling - An Antique English Ballot Box, constructed primarily from stained wood in a trapezoidal form with a sloped top. The top features two hinged lid panels that open outwards, secured by a single brass knob. A brass carrying handle is affixed to the upper rear section. The front sloped panel displays gold stenciled lettering reading ”V. F. AS'SN.” (Association), Perhaps Volunteer Fire Association. underlined by a decorative dot pattern. The interior reveals lighter, unfinished wood and includes a visible slot in the lower front panel, suggesting potential use as a collection or ballot box.
